About

Ruben Farrus is a simpatico Game Designer from Barcelona who is enjoying very much every step of his journey in the industry. He is the Design Director at Minority, creators of Papo & Yo, one of the revelations of the last E3 2011.

In 2006, after finishing his degree in Computer Science and Multimedia in Barcelona, Ruben turned his sights abroad. His first stop was France. In the process of learning the language, he developed a couple of demos which landed him an internship as a Gameplay Programmer at Codeglue in Rotterdam. During his time there, he worked on Rocket Riot, an award-winning side-view shooter for Xbox Live Arcade.

Ruben then moved on to Montreal, where he studied Game Design in the Ubisoft Campus at the University of Montreal. Upon the completion of his Master’s degree, he attended a developers meeting, determined to not to leave until he had secured at least one job interview. The following week he began his internship as a Game Designer at EA Montreal, where he developed two playable prototypes for a great new action franchise yet to be announced.

After this he moved to the UK to join Relentless Software in Brighton, where he designed the core gameplay for Blue Toad Murder Files. In 2010 he returned to Montreal, where he worked on Thief 4, at Eidos-Montreal.
